Hi Guys & Gals,

Totally had the flu this week and I was miserable.  Nothing like a cold or flu in the hot summer.  The TV tube had the usual crap with John Mc Cain and Obama everywhere, I am so sick of this.  Just shut up til October. That is when I really want to start thinking about my vote, it is just too much overkill. And of course the ONLY news I want to hear is that Hillary will become Obama’s VP.  With being sick, I also go to watch all the shows.  Dorian Saunders (Tina Turner lookalike) and the Brittany Spears look alike both made into the finals into the popular TV show America’s Got Talent. Congrats to the drag queens everywhere with their arrival to the main stream stage.

A lot of people have wrote in to say how much they enjoy our shows at the Parliament House in Orlando on Wednesdays in the disco.  Leigh Shannon’s Studio 55 is enjoying great success and attracts all kinds of people, young, over 30, Drag, Men, Women, Transgender Bis, Hetros, and a lot of my patrons from my store Ritzy Rags Wigs & More who sponsors the night.  The great retro music from Billboard reporter DJ Brianna Lee, my partner in crime Page King and a great staff help to make this one of the most fun nights of the week.  Look for more great things to come with Studio 55.  Drink specials along with our illusion show.  Out show features special guests like Esme Russell, Crystal Chambers, Tia Milan, Asya Black, CoCo Montrease and many more to come.  And about every four weeks we feature my own show that is a total look alike show like no other in town.  We will feature a very LaCage show once a month with stars like Tina Turner, Bette Midler, Madonna, Donna Summer, and more.  Come dressed up if you want and become a VIP with special seating and prizes from Ritzy Rags Wigs & More.  And at the end, we feature a “So You Think You Can Disco” contest and win a grand prize.  This night is so much fun and like I said everyone feels welcome.  It is a different show that most shows in town and you never know what we may do.   So come out and see this great show and hear the best in music and look for new things happening all the time on Wednesdays at Leigh Shannon’s Studio 55!

New tidbits of info on the club and concert scene.  Miss Dolly Parton will be in concert in Orlando on October 18th at the UCF arena.  Been worried about this diva icon with her weight problem, but  I hear that her Backwoods Barbie tour is super!  And you know of course Dolly has written all the music for the new musical Nine To Five.  And I do smell a Tony coming her way.  If you love Dolly as I do, be sure and visit as fan based site that keeps up with everything about her, www.Dollymania.net.  He does a great job with just about everything to do with Dolly. Danielle get your front row seat now for this great concert!

I hear the Sawmill Toga Party was so much fun and I actually never hear anything bad about this hot spot.  I just know people love to keep going there. Be sure and catch the VI Anniversary on August 15th thru the 17th.   Graze restaurant in Orlando has a new chef Jephanie Foster who use do run Blue Bistro on Mills Ave.  She has already overhauled the menu.  I hear a lot of buzz about this dining place and this great lady.  It is located at on South Eloa Drive, call (407) 650-0038 for more info. I am heading there next week!

I will be performing at Revolution Orlando this Saturday and looking forward to it.  I will take some great shots for you to see.  I hear VIP Tuesdays are off the roof with Angelica Sanchez and guests.  Oh yeah, remember a free buffet! And catch Danielle Hunter’s showcase every week as well.  She features different guests every week and what a great show room.  Also, I do hear that a new club may be opening in Orlando?  Just a rumor, I’ll check it out for ya!

Hello to all,

Right away, a big shout out to our new editor Mr. Bruce Bogan!  May this be a long and productive run for him in his new position.  I am sure great growth will continue with him on board.

I have to say I saw a wonderful tribute last Saturday at The Parliament House for the one and only, Paul Wegman AKA Miss P!  Michael Wanzie spoke a few words and the documentary on Miss P’s Life was played and my GOD, I miss this very talented person.  Jim Eddie made a beautiful quilt banner for the gay icon who left us way to early.  It was a very special evening.

 Gas prices are up, good jobs are scarce, food is high, so there must be an election on?  There sure is with probably two presidential candidates that are as different as night and day.  So when things are down, I say hit the clubs and the booze, LOL!  And there are a lot of great happenings coming up around Central Florida.

The Parliament House has so much going on this month.  The anniversary Reunion show on Monday, July 21st will feature some great past cast members like Nazhoni, Lorie DelMar, Rusti Fawcett, Carmella Garcia and many more.  The show will start at 9:00.  And then the one and only recording artist Kristine W will be LIVE in concert on Saturday, July 26th  I have seen her before and she is a dynamite live performer.  And this guy must have gotten his visa problems solved, Boy George will be at Hard Rock Orlando on Saturday, July 26th.  So if you are not into the gay club scene, this may be an alternative.  

Revolution Orlando was busy last Saturday as well with hostess Danielle Hunter and special guest Aysa Black.  The staff is so great at this club.  They are always super friendly and pour a good drink!  A very prestigious pageant will be held there on Sunday, August 3rd featuring some of the finest.  The Miss Southeast Continental Pageant guests will include Miss Erika Norell, Nicole Luv Dupree, Roxxxy Andrews and many more.  But the one I cannot wait to see is Lakesha Lucky.  I have not seen her in many years and it will be great to have her back on the stage.  Check out the website for more info and/or call Danielle Hunter.

Hello To Everyone,

The Fourth of July weekend was incredible and was so much fun!  I went to Revolution Orlando and man what a great show. Danielle Hunter was the hostess and the special guest was definitely special!  Tiffany Airieagus tore the house down and was ready to dance even more.  She looks great, and is still the true Diva entertainer.  I then went to Parliament House and caught the Footlight Players out by the pool finishing up their show.  I loved the last production that featured the song “Fashionqnista” by Jimmy James, it was a great set.  I did not stay for the Martha Wash show, but did hear later that she was not quite on her game that night?  Well, they got to see Darcel and she WAS on her game!  I did not get a chance to go to Pulse that night as planned.  I just ran out of night.  I will hit them next week.

 The summer heat is getting unbearable and I catch wait to hit a beach soon. Are there still nude beaches? LOL!  With the summer heat, Dr. Martha Marinara is no longer the president of the board of directors of Orlando’s GLBCC. Eric Bratcher is serving as the new board president.  It’s almost here, Mamma Mia, The Movie  opens July 18th and I am so ready to see a great movie, it has been awhile.  Former Senator Jesse Helms has died at age 86.  He was a terrible man against so many civil rights and gay rights just to name a few.  Maybe he found some correct direction before he passed.

A shout out to Miss Sammy who is a true gay icon here in Florida!  The entertainer Broadway veteran is turning 50 and looks FAB!  You can catch Miss Sammy just about everywhere in Orlando.  She is featured at Hamburger Mary’s on Tuesdays, P-House on Bingo Wednesdays & Fridays and with India Brooks at Funky Monkey from time to time.  Happy Birthday Sammy!  We are still trying to get her to do one of our Studio 55 shows as well.  Cone on gal, you can DISCO, can’t you?  Remember our “So You Think You Can Disco? Contest right after our show on Wednesdays in the P-House disco!

Listen, gotta run for now.  Speaking of Miss Sammy’s 50th!  We both can speak from experience.   So some caution to all people shooting up raw silicone in your bodies by people who are not part of any type of medical team, you really should think twice.  I had one treatment 20 years ago in my cheeks and I had to have EARLY face lifts because they were dropping.   It was the silicone that I had that led to early plastic surgery for sure.  Its just common sense, EVEN profession plastic surgeons can make a mistake, so why can a commoner just start poking needles into a precious body.  GOD knows, what may be in the syringe if they are doing personal cut backs, think about it.  PLEASE save up money and get a real doctor to start making you look like Christine Aguilera!  This segment is just my personal opinion but it is shared by many entertainers over 40 who had silicone injected early on. So it is your own call!

I am getting ready to see one of my favorite DIVAS at Revolution in Orlando this Saturday night.  I can’t wait to see her again.  It has been so long since Tiffany Aireagus has been on stage in this city.  This should be a great 4th Of July weekend.  I will let you know how it goes.  Speaking of Revolution, Page King worked there last week and said it was so much fun.  I hear one of the great nights there is Tuesdays Sin Night with hostess Danielle Hunter, a hot male revue, and DJ Deron Martin.

 I am also heading to Pulse this weekend and it should be fun.  The weekly drag line up there is now Sassy Devine, Angelica Sanchez and Roxxxy Andrews.  I have always thought this club is so beautiful and unique.  And they make a great martini!

The Parliament House Resort is bringing back the Parliament House Reunion Show with some very special guests.  Nazhoni is the big headliner here along with super divas, Carmella Marcella Garcia, Lori Delmar, Tiffany McCray, Rusti Fawcett and many more.  This event will be on Monday, July 21st at the Footlight Theater at 9:00 PM.  So make your reservations early!

Some notes, don’t miss the opening of “Die Mommie Die!” at Theater Downtown.  We saw the play in New York last year and loved it.  The opening will be Friday, July 11th. This is sponsored by Paradise, Watermark and Savoy.
